Quality Assurance Engineer

The Quality Assurance Engineer works with various internal, and offshore, departments to review and test software functionality across multiple platforms. This position requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, in order to ensure that high quality, and professional, product offerings are delivered to our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Review functional and technical specifications to develop test plans and test cases.
  • Perform manual testing of ecommerce web sites and applications, including system testing & regression testing and documentation of results.
  • Contribute and adhere to the overall Quality Assurance best practices, strategy and methodology.
  • Demonstrate ownership of all assigned tasks and projects, delivering status updates to management and stakeholders regularly. (Includes escalating issues and risks as appropriate)
  • Provide ongoing internal reporting to management to ensure adequate performance knowledge.

Experience:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate to both technical and non–technical audiences.
  • Ability to be proactive with all work assignments, identifying potential risks areas ahead of time to minimize impact to deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Flexible and willing to adjust to operational pressures, often at short–notice.
  • Strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills, showing a strong attention to detail.
  • Hard worker with a positive “can–do” attitude.
  • Ability to identify and raise issues and resolve them in a constructive manner.
  • Effective troubleshooting and risk analysis skills.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • 1–3 years of previous software development or quality assurance experience required.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills in a previous work environment.
  • Technical aptitude, intermediate knowledge of SQL and familiarity with systems infrastructure.
  • Strong PC skills (Word and Excel).
  • Practical e–commerce experience.
  • Previous experience with automated testing tools a plus.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or other technical area is required.
